The Ural Frontier Association, whose general partner is Ural Automobile Plant JSC, ended a few weeks ago. This time is enough to move away from the minutes, seconds, positions and events of individual special stages and look at the competition in its entirety. Four racing days showed the Southern Urals in completely different ways: fast field tracks were replaced by forest roads, fords, rocky trails and foothills, the weather varied the condition of the track, and outwardly understandable sections more than once turned out to be more difficult than one might have expected.
The third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship has ended in Miass. During the four race days, the crews covered 1,211.10 kilometers of the route, of which 662.80 were on high-speed sections. The final "Ural Frontier" special stage, 112.5 km long, was the final test and the last opportunity for the athletes to change their position in the final classification.
The third day of the "Ural Frontier" baha competition became a new challenge for the participants of the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship. The changeable weather added another factor to the accumulated load: it rained almost throughout the entire course and noticeably changed the condition of the track between its two runs. As a result, after three stages, the race got a new leader — Dmitry Sotnikov beat Bogdan Karimov and took the first place in the cargo standings.
After a short prologue by Bach, "Ural Frontier" took the athletes to the longest sports distance of the entire race. On Friday, September 11, the participants of the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship overcame two high-speed sections with a total length of 310.82 kilometers, taking into account the ranges, the daily route was 444.77 kilometers. Rain, changing terrain, forest roads, open fast stretches and deep fords made the second day the first serious test for crews and equipment.
The third stage of the Russian rally raid championship - bach "Ural Frontier" — started in Chelyabinsk. On the morning of September 10, the participants underwent administrative checks and a technical inspection, after which the latest changes were made to the start protocols. At 13:30, the opening ceremony of the competition and the presentation of the crews took place, and then the athletes of the Russian championship and the participants of the Sintec Race went to the first high-speed section.
From September 9 to 13, the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship, the Ural Frontier, will be held in the Chelyabinsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Six special stages, flat, wooded and rocky roads, and fords — the participants will have to overcome about 660 kilometers of the sports distance, and the total length of the route will exceed 1,000 kilometers. The list of announced participants includes 24 crews in five competitions, and each of them approaches the start with its own task.: someone will have to defend the lead, someone will have to close the gap, and someone will have enough successful finish to dramatically change their position in the classification. The strongest representatives of domestic rally raids will take part at the start, and participants of the Sintec Race special competition will also compete on the track. Each classification has its own intrigue, and the result of the Ural Frontier can affect not only the outcome of a particular race, but also the position of participants in the Russian championship.
On September 1, applications for media accreditation for the third stage of the Russian Rally Championship, the Ural Frontier Rally, will be accepted.
From September 10 to 13, the participants of the Ural Frontier Movement will have to go through six special stages in the territories of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The route of the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship will connect Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk and Miass, and the nature of the route will change almost every day: from high-speed grassy roads and forest areas to rocky foothills and mountain tracks. The sports distance of the specified route will be just over 660 competitive kilometers, and the total distance will exceed 1,000 kilometers. The Ural Frontier is designed as a compact but unforgiving race with a wide ride. Participants will have to combine high speed with precise navigation, overcome fords and ruts, carefully choose a trajectory on rocky areas and monitor the resource of tires.
On September 9-13, 2026, the Ural Frontier Rally, the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship, will take place in the Chelyabinsk Region and Bashkortostan.
