From September 10 to 13, the participants of the Ural Frontier Movement will have to go through six special stages in the territories of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The route of the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship will connect Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk and Miass, and the nature of the route will change almost every day: from high-speed grassy roads and forest areas to rocky foothills and mountain tracks. The sports distance of the specified route will be just over 660 competitive kilometers, and the total distance will exceed 1,000 kilometers. The Ural Frontier is designed as a compact but unforgiving race with a wide ride. Participants will have to combine high speed with precise navigation, overcome fords and ruts, carefully choose a trajectory on rocky areas and monitor the resource of tires.
Chelyabinsk: a short prologue before a multi-day race
The first stage of the baha will take place on Thursday, September 10. It consists of a super-special section with a length of just over 10 kilometers in the Sosnovsky municipal District of the Chelyabinsk region.
The short prologue will take place mainly in an open area with tall grass and black soil. There will be small navigation sections on the highway, and in wet weather, ruts may appear on some sections. Despite its relatively short length, the SSU will be the first test for the crews. According to its results, the ten strongest will be determined, which will have the opportunity to choose profitable starting positions the next day.
For the audience, the first day of the race starts on the territory of the Traktor ice arena in Chelyabinsk. At 13:30, the grand opening ceremony of the baja will begin here, after which the participants will go to the venue of the special stage. The start of the SSU is scheduled for 15:00.
From Chelyabinsk to Magnitogorsk: forests, speed and deep fords
Friday, September 11th, will be the longest race day of Baja. The second stage includes two special stages — SU-2 with a length of 185 kilometers and SU-3 with a length of about 125 kilometers.
From Chelyabinsk, the SU-2 route gradually goes into the wooded part of the Southern Urals. Black earth roads, tall grass and trees, narrow sections and possible ruts await athletes here. At the same time, the route assumes sufficiently high speeds, so the crews will have to simultaneously control the car, monitor changes in the landscape and accurately navigate using the road book and instruments.
In the second half of the special stage, the nature of the route will change. Forest roads will give way to more open flat areas, where high-speed sections and deep fords will appear. Currently, the depth of individual fords is about 60-70 centimeters, but their condition will depend on the amount of precipitation before the race.
After the finish of the SU-2, the sports caravan will pass through the refueling and service area, and then head along the runway to the start of the next special stage.
The SU-3 will also be quite fast. The route will pass through flat landscapes with small elevation differences, and the main challenge here will be navigation at high speed. Making a mistake in choosing the right turn can cost the crew a significant amount of time.
The finish of the second stage is planned in the Magnitogorsk area, after which the participants will head to the Attraction Park, where a bivouac will be located from the evening of September 11.
For the fans, it will be an opportunity to see the rally raid not only on the track. At the bivouac, it will be possible to observe the work of mechanics, the preparation of sports equipment and the life of teams between stages.
_"From September 9th to 13th, our region will become the center of rally-raid motorsport thanks to the Ural Frontier initiative. This is a home race for the URAL MOTORSPORT team, which puts additional responsibility on us. We are intensively preparing for the competition itself, as well as for meeting with our viewers. There is always a special support from the fans at the home stage, which gives the team additional motivation. We are always glad to have guests at our bivouacs and invite everyone to an open dialogue," says the head of the URAL MOTORSPORT team. Victor Yakovlev.
Foothills and Bashkortostan: rocks, grass, and hard-to-read roads
On Saturday, September 12, the nature of the route will change again. The third stage will consist of two special stages — SU-4 and SU-5, each with a length of 115 kilometers. Between them, the crews will have to walk about 40 kilometers of the runway.
The route will run through the foothills of the Southern Urals and cross the border of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan. After the high-speed sections of the previous day, the crews will have to face a different type of surface and terrain: rocky roads, tall grass, narrow sections and poorly readable paths will appear on the highway. There will also be fords.
This configuration will require special concentration from the pilots. Rocks hidden in the tall grass can be a serious challenge for vehicles and tires, and a poorly readable track will increase the importance of precise co-drivers.
Before the finish of the special stages, places of possible viewing for fans will be organized in the Verkhneuralsk area. After completing the SU-5, the athletes will travel back to Magnitogorsk, to the Attraction Park.
On the evening of September 12, a special program is planned for the audience with the participation of athletes and teams, various activities and a prize draw.
** The final: mountains, rocks and the way to the automobile capital of the Urals**
The final stage of the baja will take place on Sunday, September 13. The participants will have to complete the 112-kilometer SU-6, which was based on the route of last year's race in the direction of Uchaly in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The final part of the competition will be another serious test for the technique. The route will have mountainous and rocky sections, fords and roads with a lot of stones, including those hidden in the grass. Therefore, accurate trajectory selection and tire condition monitoring will be especially important at the final special stage.
After the finish, the crews will head to Miass, where the sports and spectator program of the third stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship will end.
From 14:00 to 16:30 on the Central Square in front of the city administration, the ceremonial passage of the finishing crews through the arch and the greeting of the participants will take place. Then, from 16:30 to 19:30, the audience will enjoy a concert program with the participation of the Pulse Cinema cover band. The awarding ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the Baha will begin at 19:30.
Home race for Ural
The Ural Frontier Bach takes place in the year of the 85th anniversary of Ural Automobile Plant JSC, located in Miass, and is one of the key sporting events of the jubilee year of the enterprise. The general partner of the competition traditionally associates its history and development with heavy machinery designed for operation in the most difficult conditions.
"For our plant, Ural Frontier's support is not just participation in races, but a conscious investment in the revival and development of Russian motorsport. This year, the strongest crews of the country and neighboring countries will take part in the launch. Four days of serious struggle, a difficult track, a test of technique and character — all this is real motorsport. This is close to us: the Ural plant itself lives in a rigid rhythm, where the equipment must work at the limit and not fail._
I would like to note that the race is inscribed in the year of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the company. For us, this is an additional reason to hold the event at a decent level. We are working closely with the organizers so that both participants and the audience can see a real celebration of sports," said Pavel Yakovlev, CEO of Ural Oil Company .
Sintec Race: the opportunity to go out on the track with the professionals
Within the framework of the Ural Frontier Training Center, with the support of Sintec Lubricants, a manufacturer of high—quality lubricants and technical fluids, a special Sintec Race will be held, an off-road series format that allows owners of production cars to try themselves in rally raids and get on the same track with professional athletes.
Applications for participation in the Sintec Race are open until September 9th. For those who are just starting out in rally raids, as well as for regional athletes, this is an opportunity to join the Ural Frontier, test themselves and their equipment off-road in the Southern Urals and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a real rally raid for a few days - with starts, special stages, a bivouac and the daily life of the teams on the other side. the finishing protocol.
The Southern Urals as part of the Russian Championship
Bahi's Ural Frontier route combines different landscapes of the Southern Urals, from high—speed plains and forested areas to foothills and rocky mountain roads. The compact configuration of the track will require high concentration from the crews and competent work with sports equipment throughout the four days of the race.
For athletes, it will be a struggle for seconds, navigation accuracy and safety of equipment. For the audience, it is an opportunity to see the rally raid not only on special stages, but also in the very center of the life of the competition: at the start, in bivouacs, in places of possible viewing along the route and at the finish of the race in Miass.
The Ural Frontier is conceived as a competition in which sports become part of a large regional event: the cities and natural territories of the Southern Urals are united by one racing distance, and participants, teams and spectators have the opportunity to be a part of the competition throughout the Baha days.
Over the course of four race days, BACH Ural Frontier will guide participants through two regions and different faces of three cities in the Southern Urals, allowing viewers to see the Russian Rally Championship not only as a fight on the track, but also as a major motorsport event bringing together athletes, teams, fans and cities in the region.
